Getting ready for marriage

It really is quite amazing how God manages to lead you as you go about living life.

I decided to do a Google search on "praying for a husband" and somehow ended up on the Women Praying Boldly site. I had just split up with man I was dating long distance - Jewish but not a Christian (why do we do it!!) Anyways, after a not so comfortable discussion with my mum after the event about my being single, I thought it was time for me to get serious about getting married. I'd been pretty casual about the whole thing before and I'm now discovering that my mindsets were in fact detrimental to cultivating marriage in my life.

Aside from ordering Candice's book, one of the things I really felt was important for me to do to seriously prepare for marriage was to begin to order my life to make room for marriage. In a practical sense, what this has meant for me is clearing out my house of things that are just taking up space: old clothes, university notes, and other bits and pieces that are just cluttering up my space.

I also decided to make it my mission to pay off all my debts this year so that I can enter marriage debt free and I'm enrolled in an online course that focuses on biblical prosperity.

The BIble says that faith without works is dead so, these are just some of the practical things I'm doing to "Get ready for marriage". I'm about 1/3 of the way through Candice's book and am finding it very insightful. I'm really looking forward to applying the principles outlined in her book and seeing God fulfill the promise of marriage in my life.

Evelyn,
Thank you for the comment you left on my page.
I too look forward to the unified prayer of the women here and also look to this new year as the year of new beginnings for all of us.
I finally received Candice's book on Friday and almost finished with it. I will probably read it again more slowly when I am finished this first time.
I also ordered two others that she references in her book. I am excited about reading those, too.
Take care and have a great week.

Hi Evelyn :)

I hope that you are having a blessed day today and that you feel the loving arms of the Savior wrapped around you, having an strong sense that He is near you, loving you and guiding you throughout the day. :)

Thank you so much for your encouraging message--you sound like a precious sister in the Lord who is living in expectancy for all that the Lord has planned for our lives. :) I felt refreshed and blessed after reading your kind message, thank you. :)

So, have you finished the book yet? I keep looking to the mail, but still haven't recieved it yet. I'm going to laugh if it comes tomorrow (on Valentine's Day). That is the last day that it would come (I've been waiting for a few days now). I want to read it already, come book, come! :)

Have a great day!

Hi Evelyn, Thank you for introducing me to this website. God put it on my heart to establish a women's prayer group for single mums and unmarried women. And it's all here on this site. Very cool. So glad our paths crossed again at Church yesterday. You're an absolute blessing.
