I Never Knew...

Have you ever felt like there must be something wrong with you, because no one seemed to be chasing you? I have to admit that I've felt like this on many an occasion.

Well, I had something encouraging happen the other day. (At least, it was encouraging to me!)

I happened to catch up with an old (married) college buddy of mine. We had a long serious conversation, which then turned to lighter things and memories. Of course, he asked if I had any prospects, and I said no.

Well, somewhere along the way, he actually admitted that he had a crush on me way back when!

The funny thing to me is that I never noticed. For whatever reason, it never dawned on me that he would be interested.

Of course, he did admit that I seemed to be more interested in the dream, rather than the reality, of a relationship... :D ... but at least there was a little confirmation in there for me to realize that I'm not TOTALLY undesirable!!!

It's small, I know... but I relish in the small evidences of God's love and encouragement... He's looking out for me. :)

Hello!

The first thing I have to say is WOW...

It's very encouraging to know that I'm not alone in my being alone!

I look forward to helping pray for others on here.

I don't have much to say yet, but for my first entry, I'd like to share something a single friend of mine shared with me the other day. The singing isn't perfect, but the words are fabulous! I hope you enjoy this! :)

And here are the words, in case you aren't able to listen to it:

Verse One:
Their chains were fastened tight
Down at the jail that night
Still Paul and Silas would not be dismayed
They said, "It's time to lift our voice,
Sing praises to the Lord;
Let's prove that we will trust Him come what may."

CHORUS:
God wants to hear you sing
When the waves are crashing 'round you
When the fiery darts surround you
When despair is all you see
God wants to hear your voice
When the wisest man has spoken
And says, "Your circumstance is as hopeless as can be"
That's when God wants to hear you sing

Verse Two:
He loves to hear our praise
On our cheerful days
When the pleasant times outweigh the bad, by far
But when suffering comes along
And we still sing Him songs
That is when we bless the Father's heart

How are things going? What do you do during the summer when you're not teaching?

Hi again! Thanks for your advice. When you said pray about it, I thought, of course-I usually pray about everything, but I never really thought about praying about this specific situation. Maybe because my friend's comment about "forcing" something made me embarrassed that I got in contact with this guy. But, now we are in contact and I can't "read" him. I want to be somewhere between aggressive and passive (I suppose that might be "bold"). It's confusing. Anyway, I will definitely pray on it. Thanks again! :-)

Hey Natalie,
Thanks for commenting on my blog.

What do you teach? I am applying for teaching jobs in my area and I hope to get a Grade 2 position.
