Amy Drown's Profile

Amy Drown (copipergal)
33, Female
Hometown:
Colorado Springs, CO
Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
I am full of quirks and idiosyncrasies. When drinking with straws, I must always have two. I hate little round Band-aids. My Christmas tree is decorated in a different theme every year. I play the bagpipes. Books are my children. And I'm an unashamed Diamondbacks missionary in this heathen land of the Rockies. :-)
Website:
www.myspace.com/ceolmor
E-mail Address:
amy.drown@fotf.org
Favorite Music:
Predominantly rock'n'roll, pop/rock and Celtic, but I'm eclectic enough to enjoy anything except country and rap.
Favorite Movies:
"Ben-Hur" is the greatest movie ever made. And I will go to war over this one. :-)
Favorite Books:
What's Mine's Mine (also known as The Highlander's Last Song), Pride & Prejudice, Joy Street: A Wartime Romance in Letters, The Walking Drum, The Horse and His Boy... this list could go on and on and on...
Favorite Authors:
Anything by George MacDonald. Also love Louis L'Amour, Jane Austen, Walter Farley, and C.S. Lewis, among many, many others.

Focus on ... WHAT family???

I've worked at Focus on the Family for almost two years now, and for the most part, I've absolutely loved it. But as a single thirty-something, I must admit it's a bit depressing at times. I have no family to focus on! I'm an employee of Focus on the Family, but I'm not a constituent. And I'm not alone -- there is a surprising number of single guys and gals here who, like me, can't share in all of the wonderful resources that FOTF offers. We receive emails about needing help with Focus TV features... and we must delete them, because they're always looking for a FAMILY to feature. We see new products rolled out full of advice on rearing children or the latest Adventures in Odyssey collection, and we give them away to siblings and nieces and nephews because we don't have our own children. I'm sure I'm not the only girl in the world who's gone to college and grad school because... well, simply because she had nothing better to do while waiting to fulfill her life's ambition of becoming a stay-at-home wife and mother, and she hoped she might meet her Mr. Right in those areas! Well, I'm ten years removed from college and grad school now, and I'm still waiting.

But now I'm waiting and praying boldly... :-)
