I've worked at Focus on the Family for almost two years now, and for the most part, I've absolutely loved it. But as a single thirty-something, I must admit it's a bit depressing at times. I have no family to focus on! I'm an employee of Focus on the Family, but I'm not a constituent. And I'm not alone -- there is a surprising number of single guys and gals here who, like me, can't share in all of the wonderful resources that FOTF offers. We receive emails about needing help with Focus TV features... and we must delete them, because they're always looking for a FAMILY to feature. We see new products rolled out full of advice on rearing children or the latest Adventures in Odyssey collection, and we give them away to siblings and nieces and nephews because we don't have our own children. I'm sure I'm not the only girl in the world who's gone to college and grad school because... well, simply because she had nothing better to do while waiting to fulfill her life's ambition of becoming a stay-at-home wife and mother, and she hoped she might meet her Mr. Right in those areas! Well, I'm ten years removed from college and grad school now, and I'm still waiting.
But now I'm waiting and praying boldly... :-)
