About Me:: "Sa ou fè?" This is a way of saying Hi and asking how you are doing at the same time in creole. I may live in Boeblingen Germany (Germany's Silicon Valley), but I am from the West Indies. I am a French West Indian and more precisely Martinican (from Martinique or Martinica or Madinina). It is a very small island, but almost true paradise on earth. I say almost because I think traffic jam doesn't fit in the paradise island picture. Well, it is a true nice place to live and to work. People don't miss anything in my home country. So you would ask, why am I in Germany. 10 years ago, I came back from Canada (I was studying there) to finish my studies in France. There I met a "giant" German guy. I thought I had met true love and followed him in Germany after my studies. It was mostly because he hadn't finished his studies yet. We spent a year together in France, both studying. It was like a dream. For your information, I wasn't a Christian yet. I knew God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, but I hadn't made the decision to give my life to Jesus and follow him. I was praying, I knew nothing can stand against the name of Jesus and I knew all that I had was from God, but he was very often the last resort when I had problems, especially when I had an exam on the next day and still hadn't learned anything. I'm telling you, God has been writing these exams for me a number of times. I can only thank God for all my studies because sometimes I have been very lazy even though I knew the huge amount of money my Mum was paying each year. Well, to get back to the German guy, I came to Germany, I started working in software company. He eventually finished his studies and started working. After 5 years the relationship was over and not only this. I thought my world was falling apart. My life was based on my job, my boyfriend and my friends. My very close friend left first. She went back to USA. Then, it was my boyfriend and my job. I loved that job. I was a Software support engineer.These were the pillars in my life. They fell one after the other. And guess what, this is when I heard God's call. He had already been calling me for long through my Mum and some other close family friends, but I wouldn't hear it. I was too busy living my life. I gave my life to Jesus on October 3rd 2004. On this day Germans celebrate Germany's reunification. I can celebrate my reunification with God. So why am I still here will you ask. I was on vacation at home on March this year after almost 4 years (This was really a very long long long long long time) and I felt like it was time for me to go back home for good. Now, coming back to Boeblingen (where I live right now), I thought the right move would be to look for an IT job in my home country from here and then live as soon as I get the job. I haven't started to apply anywhere. I have some contacts that could be very helpful, but I haven't done anything yet. Why? The scene has changed since I have come back from my vacation. God is revealing himself to me and I understand that I will not meet my husband in my home country, but somewhere else. I guess it is going to be here in Germany since I don't plan to travel at the moment. I am very excited. Sometimes, I find myself smiling, thanking and praising God. I even want to shout loud. So this is why I am still here. I am waiting "in expectation" to meet my husband soon. God's plans for me are unfolding.

Favorite Music:: I come from the West Indies. I love the beach. My home island is an amazing place. It is always warm, always the same temperature.And people are so joyful. I would say my favorite music is the Caribbean music because it reminds me of home. It reminds me of the golden sandy beaches, the palm trees, the turquoise clear and warm water, the hot weather anytime of the year and I shouldn't forget the black sandy beaches. I particularly like our Christmas music. Those are mostly the well known Christmas carols mixed up with our music. And to me there is no better Christmas than a Christmas under 30 degrees (I mean Celsius) and people gather everywhere to sing. I miss the outdoor Christmas events.

Favorite Movies:: Action movies, Marvel movies, Sci-fi, cartoons, French comedy and some German movies(Der Schuh des Manitou= the Manitou's shoes and Traumschiff surprise, a Star Trek parody). I like telenovelas. I wish I could watch them here in Spanish or even in German. I like Bollywood movies. I also watch Nollywood movies.

Favorite Books:: I haven't read a lot of books. I really wonder how I managed at school. In High School, we had a list of books to read each year and short essays to write about them. Only God knows. I can't remember. I have read a few books and those I liked. If I don't like the beginning, I don't even try to finish it. There are 3 books that I love and those are French books: Ravage de Rene Barjavel (Science fiction, 1950's), Cleopatre (a history roman), Le roman de la momie(fiction about an ancient egyptian queen) and cooking books. I love cooking.
