The Silhouette of a Person

In the spirit of embracing all God has made me to be I'm going to reveal a bit of my heart here:

Okay, are you ready for it? Here goes…I want to be married.

I know, I know, not much of a shocker. In fact, it holds certain duh factor to it but it can't be left unsaid. After all it is a part of who I am, a part of my heart, a part of my dreams and although I have these desires I refuse to settle. I want nothing less than God's best for me. I want a marriage based on love and respect; a marriage of unselfishness; a marriage that honors and reflects God; a marriage that takes the kingdom by force; a marriage that uplifts and encourages; a marriage that above all else holds nothing back when it comes to loving God. This is what I want and I believe this is what God has for me.

This leads me to thinking about character and about the silhouette, if you would, of a man. The man I desire to marry is a man of integrity and of honesty. A man who loves God with his emotions, his words, and his actions. He is a man who truly knows what forgiveness means and allows it to cover him and flow from him. He thus is confidant in who God has made him to be and embraces that man. He uses his gifts wisely and is a good steward with his finances. In other words, he allows Christ's lordship in the areas of time, money, and talents. Ergo, he is actively pursing a deeper understanding of God's will and purpose for his life. He is faithful in the little things, in the daily things. He submits to the authorities above him. He is a man of compassion and of humor. He is a man who stands for righteousness and fights for purity.

As you can see he is a pretty amazing man. I have high standers, I admit, but I also have high hopes.

With this, I am encouraged to be the type of woman this man deserves. This woman is one whose life puts out the same echo. She is a woman who embraces the God who created her with all her heart, all her mind, and all her being. She is neither lazy nor compromising in her work. She trusts God to meet all her needs and thus will give, wholly, of herself. She is a woman who sees others as God sees them and acts accordingly. This type of woman clings to integrity consistently moving in righteousness and purity. She remembers to not lose heart in doing good and thus protects her brothers. She is keenly aware of how her actions affect others. She is actively serving God and ministering to His people. She loves to laugh knowing that it is the joy of the Lord that reigns in her life. She joyfully and whole heartedly submits to authority. She neither judges nor holds a grudge but asks for God's discernment and seeks out forgiveness.

I've got my work cut out for me but I'm looking forward to it. A little hard work is good for the soul and trust in God can move mountains.

Hope to cross paths with ya as I'm loving God and living life~Christin Marie

Thanks for the encouragement! I will definitely hit you up from time to time to chat about singleness. This week should be interesting with Valentine's day. I think I have plans with a friend of mine to go for coffee.
