Everything is going really well here. One thing I'm learning about life in Israel is that if you aren't 100% in God's will, He'll pull a Jonah on you and get you there. ;) I'm very settled in now. :) This will be home through September and then I'll be back again in March... unless I decide to stay! Yeah... that attack was really wild. It happened on one of the main roads I travel on daily. In fact, my bus had gone through there no more than 30 minutes before the attack, but I was very safe when it happened. It's been amazing to see how the people here respond to such events. Many of them seemed downcast about it because they haven't had any attacks in Jerusalem for a while, but they didn't let it affect their daily routines. Traffic was only a problem in that immediate area, and everyone has carried on as normal. I have noticed a lot more helicopters flying around though. It was definitely a wake up call for me as to how serious the tension are here, and how prayerful I need to be about my daily traveling. Thank you so much for your prayers, Alicia. We really do need them! Pray for the bus drivers too! Reply »

Hi Ladies, I'm praying for each of you over here! ;) Everything is going well, I do have a cold that needs some prayer, and i think my job will be more challenging that I expected, so cover that please! Please pray for continued preparation for marriage, safety for my fiance Devin who is serving in the IDF, and increased love for the Jews in the land. :) Thanks! Reply »

Women of WPB, In just a few days I'll be leaving for three months in Israel. I met and became engaged in Jerusalem (over looking Mt. Zion), so besides the fact that this is where Jesus' feet literally touched the ground, I have very personal reasons to have increased faith to pray for marriage while in the land. My favorite place to seek the Lord is at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem's Old City. This is the western retaining wall of Soloman's temple, and currently the only place on the temple mount where Jews and Christians have access to pray. It acts as a giant alter in the exact geographic location where God's presence dwelt for thousands of years before He was free to live in us. If any of you would like me to pray for you while I'm away, please let me know. I'm willing to go boldly before the Lord on your behalf, from a bold location. I hope it will increase your faith to know you being prayed for in the city where our Bridegroom Messiah will return! :) Also, do pray for me while I'm away! Blessings! Callie Reply »

A Book Worth Reading

I recently read a book called Bittersweet: The restoration continues, by Gay Lewis. This is a story for any pro-lifer who can see God's heart revealed through adoption. First published in 1984, Lewis tells the story of her daughter, Laurie, who discovers she is pregnant just weeks into her freshman year at a bible college. In vulnerability, Lewis shares their family story of walking with Laurie through her teen pregnancy and the emotions involved in prayerfully choosing adoption.

Twenty-five years after the birth of the child, Bittersweet was re-released with the addition of part two, which tells of the continued restoration of Laurie and her family as her beloved daughter, Clare, returns into her life. This is an honest story that testifies to God's ability to glorify Himself through some of life's most difficult circumstances. The struggle is present, but so is God's grace.

Callie,
I have a favor to ask of you. I have another prayer request for you. Please pray for the Lord to bless me with an awesome job when I get out of the military in December...a job I excel at and prosper at and that pays even better than the job I have now. Thank you so much. God bless you. -Becky

Thank you so much Callie! :) How is your cold doing? Hahaha, it's funny, I kept sneezing yesterday (allergies) and each time I did, it was like a reminder from God to keep praying for your health and for you to feel better! :)

I hope that you're having a great time in Israel! :) Post some pics of your trip when you return! :) I hope that your cold will be gone soon--sometimes something as simple as a cold can be so draining, blech. :P I pray that God would give you His strength and that He would fill you with joy while you are there, going about His business. May you and your fiance and family also experience God's safety and peace. Have a great time! :)

PS: Heh heh, maybe take some Airborne next time before you fly, eh? Hahaha, how poignant, as I was typing that, I sneezed! I sure hope that I'm not going to get a cold next! lol :D
