This was hot! I needed this right now. Sometimes we "settle" and after the fact we are so bent (mad) because we aren't happy (in the end)... I've been workin' hard on the "settle-mentality" in my life. If I want Cheesecake I will not "make do" with a sucker. Why do I do this with men? Why do I take a "piece of a man" when I could just sit still and get a "whole man"? Why do I do this? Because sometimes lonely sets in and the "piece of a man" looks better than "no man". I gotta stop lookin' at it like that. Timely points made...thank you! Reply »

When a man tells you how he feels...believe him (changed a bit from the famous quote used by Maya Angelou). It will be hard....(and this is comin' from someone that is still trying to get over an extended "crush")...but you will eventually get over this person. Movin' on is best. Even if you have to receive counseling for the assistance/push to let go - do so. Concentration on someone who doesn't feel the same just takes away energy that you can be focusing on yourself and your preparation for your "true" helpmate. Reply »

I don't think it's being too "picky" - but I will say this..... sometimes GOD will align us with someone that is totally different from what we normally would choose (so I think). While you may be "holding out" for a man that is without children - there may be an excellent choice with two or three children right next to you that you're not paying attention to. I had a friend that prayed that her drug-addicted boyfriend would "come to CHRIST"...needless to say with lots of prayer and supplication he did come to CHRIST. Amen! End of story, right? No. After he came to CHRIST, he then became "too CHRISTian" for her. They ended up breaking up. Now. She got exactly what she "prayed for" - but still wasn't happy. I don't want you to ever feel like you're "settling" - but at the same time I don't want you to let a prince pass you by on the pretense that he has children.... Be Blessed sista! Reply »
